Mak Tare approaches each of his patients as an individual; he first listens to the patient’s desires and expectations, which helps in providing a personalised care and the results to his patients. A new patient consultation usually lasts for about 30 minutes and involves active listening to the patients, the professional assessment of the problem – and impartial advice as to the availability and suitability of various procedures. He encourages patients to have a clear understanding of the treatment plan before the procedure is performed – and sometimes this may require further visits before a final plan is confirmed.
Mak offers the ‘cooling off’ period of two weeks to all his cosmetic patients so that they get time to understand and think about the implications of surgery. This two weeks cooling off period also allows the patient to make the necessary personal arrangements with work and family before undergoing the procedure.
Mak has established a reliable support network through the dedicated staff in the various professional hospitals. This emphasis on approachability, communication and support is enhanced by a dedicated private secretary.
